ClubSport Fremont
I purchased a groupon for 29 days at ClubSport Fremont. The facility is supposedly huge with loads of cardio equipment and free weights. They have pools, tennis courts, racquetball courts and group fitness classes. To unwind, they have a spa, hot tubs and saunas.
In writing, this sounds all well and good. My biggest challenge would be getting my butt over there. I am notorious for buying gym memberships and then neglecting to use it.
There's an awesome atmosphere in gyms however. Something to be said for a room full of people sharing the same goal, getting fit!
We shall see how this pans out. I'll go print my groupon now and plan my first visit.

A Healthy Relationship
1. Have a date night every week.
2. Have a date day every month.
3. Have a date weekend every quarter of a year.

They don't say idleness is the devil's playground just to say it. There actually is a grain of truth to it. We can do the worst things when we're bored. Being bored in a relationship is not at all good. Discord in the relationship leads to detrimental stress and stress can erode any physical efforts you put into becoming healthy.
I maintain the mentality that becoming healthy involves efforts in the mental and spiritual arena as well. Stress is a killer. You can be in tip top shape and yet feel absolutely dreadful when anxiety and worry is present in your life. Your relationship with your significant other plays a major role in your happiness. It too needs upkeep in order to stay in good condition. The rules above serve as good guidelines in order to prevent your relationship from going stagnant and idle. Routine can be nice, but unchecked, it digs a rut and ruts are hard to get out of.

Hayward Regional Shoreline
Hiking Trip #1.
Very easy. Gravel path. No hills. We didn't even break a sweat. I was forewarned about this park so I did expect it to be a little stinky. Salt beds and swamps surround the area. The path circles around a landfill. It was interesting, saw a few birds, foggy SF across the water. Traffic included bike riders and other hikers, not many though. If I were to return here, I'd definitely just bring my bike, (that I still have to buy). The only challenge comes from the length of the hike itself although you can cut it short and just circle back.
I love hiking. It's loads of fun! You don't even realize you're doing yourself good, both physically and mentally. Feedback from my fellow hikers did include a desire for a bit more of a challenge.

Hiking
Getting 10,000 steps a day is a good way to prevent and reduce overweight and obesity. Use a pedometer to track your progress. Couch potatoes or people that live sedentary lives usually average 1,000 to 3,000 steps.
I average about 5,000 to 6,000 a day.
I'm not ready to implement a program to make sure I walk 10,000 a day, but I have a fun new goal!
I'm going hiking every two weeks.
Living in the bay area has its major perks, beautiful and diverse bits of nature. I bought this book,
and a good pair of hiking shoes from Sports Authority.

I'm all set.
If I end up making a habit out of this, I'll invest in a better pair of shoes.
